Healthcare Story
Equipping clinics to serve communities better.
The R.K Atikpo Foundation, led by Hon. Richard K. Atikpo, a Council of State member representing the Oti Region, has partnered with GIZ & Magdeburg in Germany and Networking for Hope to import essential medical equipment and supplies worth thousands of euros.
The donated resources are intended to improve healthcare delivery across the nine districts of the Oti Region. Items included hospital beds, defibrillators, monitor accessories, syringe pumps, ultrasonic probes, breathing tubes, suction equipment, personal protective equipment, ventilators, and other medical consumables needed for diagnosis and treatment.
“This generous contribution is expected to significantly contribute to improving the quality of healthcare services in the region.”

Capacity Building
In addition to equipment, the initiative included a multi-day workshop focused on ultrasound examination in emergency medicine. Delivered in partnership with German experts, the training gave doctors and nurses practical and theoretical knowledge, including hands-on patient care experience. Hospitals in Jasikan and Nkwanta also received new ultrasound devices to strengthen diagnostic capacity and improve emergency response.
